Dr. Wayne L.
Moore

Dr. Moore is the Senior Pastor at the Olivet Missionary Baptist Church,
in Indianapolis, Indiana.
In 1980, Wayne L. Moore was licensed to Preach at the Christ Missionary
Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Melvin Girton. He
served as the Associate Minister at Christ Missionary Baptist Church, Mt
Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, and the Emmanuel Missionary Baptist
Church, where he was under the Pastoral tutorage and influence of some of
Indianapolis’s finest Pastors.
Reverend Moore has been blessed to hold the position of Interim Pastor at
the New Garfield Baptist Church, Greater St. Mark Baptist Church and the
Northside New Era Baptist Church. Little was known at the time that these
positions would prepare him for the next step in God’s master plan for him.
In May of 1990, Reverend Moore received his Bachelor of Theology Degree from
the Central Baptist Theological Seminary. This May of 2004, Reverend Moore
will receive his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the Simmons Bible College,
Louisville, Kentucky. Also, in an effort to stay abreast of all Theological
training he has done extensive work at the Martin University and Heritage
Bible College.
In August of 1990, Reverend Moore was installed as the Pastor of the Olivet
Missionary Baptist Church. Under Pastor Moore’s leadership the Olivet
Baptist Church has grown spiritually, numerically and financially. Pastor
Moore and the Church Officers realized that with the growth of the Church
there was a need for a new facility.
With the help of the Holy Spirit Olivet moved from its location on the
Southside of the city to its current location on the far Westside of
Indianapolis. Olivet moving to its present location has been a blessing to
the neighborhood, which has eagerly embraced the Church and its Ministries.
Pastor Moore’s vision to Minister to a wide and diverse community as well as
the neighboring Elementary School is being accomplished. The Church and the
Pastor have been instrumental in providing for the spiritual and earthly
needs of this community.
Pastor Moore with the guidance of the Holy Spirit has brought Olivet to new
dimensions and has implemented numerous training classes designed to win
souls for Christ. Trusting in the Holy Spirit, Pastor Moore has been blessed
to find Associate Ministers to work along side of him to help spread the
Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Reverend Moore was Second Vice President of the Indiana Missionary Baptist
Convention; past General Secretary of Capitol City Fellowship Association;
past Foreign Mission Chairman for I.M.B.S.C.; and past Foreign Mission Board
Member of the National Missionary Baptist Convention. At present he is the
Director of the Simmons Bible College Indianapolis Extension; board member
and Treasure of the Central Baptist Theological Seminary. Reverend Moore has
been an instructor at the National Baptist Sunday School Convention for the
past ten years. In May of 2002, he was elected Moderator of the Capitol City
Fellowship Missionary Baptist Association for a four-year term.
Reverend Moore has been very instrumental in working with the various School
Districts in the city of Indianapolis, and promoting Education and a better
quality of life for young people. As a result of his involvement he has been
sought out by influential Community leaders to be a candidate for the Pike
Township School Board. The Pike Township School Board has a multi
million-dollar yearly budget, which maintains the education of over 10,000
children in the township.
The
Pastor of the Olivet Baptist Church is a very devoted family man as
well as a Godly man. His
instructive religious upbringing came from his parents the late Brother Andrew and Sister Bessie Moore. He has been given a Godly
woman as his helpmate Sister Paulastyne Terry Moore who has been there for
him through his accomplishments, trials and tribulations. They have been
blessed with three daughters Candice, Courtney, Camryn and nephew Ernest
Terry.
Under the leadership of Pastor Moore the Olivet Baptist Church continues to
grow and spread the Word of our Heavenly Father.
